I offer a variety of workshops both en plein air and inside the studio. These can be landscape, seascape, portraiture, life drawing/painting, still life and sketchbook techniques. These can also be tailored to the needs of a particular art group or society.

The idea of this full day workshop is to look at the techniques involved in painting waves and water in a seascape. Looking at how the trails of foam and contrast of the water creates movement and a sense of form in the water. Examining colour, depth and composition, we will experiment with techniques and processes, using photos to generate our work. Suitable for all abilities .

How to be brave with colour! Using a reference photo provided, the idea of this workshop is to create a view of ‘Skirrid Fawr’ in the Black Mountains, Wales. We will initially explore
compositions through sketching then on to painting. We will look at the use of contrast with colour as well as creating a sense of distance in a landscape. Suitable for all abilities.
